Sales Rep (Los Angeles)
OVERVIEW
Sales Rep position includes: merchandising and sampling (1-3 years experience, relationships with grocery and food service buyers). This is a great opportunity for an organized, self-starter to work in the specialty food business. Granola Gourmet makes energy bars for Athletes and Diabetics that everyone loves. Our ideal candidate is a can do responsible salesperson that is passionate about helping others meet their goals.
The Sales Rep is responsible for managing their Territory Plan and delivering results against it. Regular activities include sales & merchandising at natural and specialty stores/departments. Managing a sales and sampling budget at retailers, shows, events and Farmers Markets. To reach consumers where they live, work, play and shop.
Terms: Granola Gourmet has an immediate opening in its sales department. The position requires professionalism, multi-tasking, research skills, and proficiency. JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for the full sales cycle including prospecting through account management within your assigned territory
Target accounts are in the following channels: food service, retailers, brokers and distributors
Create, maintain, and update annual account plans for all accounts.
Preparation and submission of retail/grocery promotional contracts, new item forms, cost change forms and retailer documentation as needed
Interface with Accounts regarding orders and order issues
Entering promotional pricing, sales, and other related information in all company forecast data bases
Assist in the organization and planning of special projects as requested
Communicate all competitive activity and necessary information
Database maintenance using the on-line sales database program
Account manager support for new and existing client accounts. Maintaining good relationships, placing orders, going to local accounts, merchandising, and delivering to (DSD) accounts as needed
Responds to customer/client inquiries via email and telephone
Conducts target and specialty food marketing research; compiles, analyzes, and reports data and findings
Assists with media outreach, creates mailing lists, and assembles press kits
Assists in development of sales and marketing proposals
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Clear, professional communication skills (written, oral & interpersonal)
Manage scheduling and sampling at retailers and shows
Travel to visit customers, special events and to trade shows will be required including assisting in coordinating/executing shows
SKILLS
1-3 years experience consumer packaged good sales
Resourceful, innovative, and productive
Creative and strategic thinker – gets customers to think outside the box
Experience negotiating – can help customers see the value in implementing new programs

Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Basic SalesForce.com experience
Familiarity with Social Media networks (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Analytics)
Ability to identify and develop new customer opportunities and relationships
Can calculate Profit Margin and Product Markup
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Coordinates and executes consumer outreach programs (sampling, events and Farmers Markets) to reach consumers where they live, work, play and shop
Education: bachelor’s degree (a plus) or equivalent work experience
Clean Motor Vehicle Report, valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of appropriate automobile insurance
This is an exempt position and will require flexible schedule to include nights and weekends and travel
Must be able to lift 30 lbs. with no restrictions
